From Brazil to New England — the path to Lynx
Luis Phellipe de Matos is the CEO and founder of Lynx Ledgers LLC. The company sits at the intersection of three worlds: Brazilian entrepreneurship, financial markets, and real-world operation of small businesses in the United States.
In Brazil, Phellipe owned three companies across different sectors and spent years working in financial markets — learning firsthand how to read a balance sheet, read people, and separate what actually generates revenue from what only looks like it does. That shaped how he sees numbers: not as spreadsheets, but as decisions.
In the United States, he took over finance and accounting for a large construction company in Massachusetts, where he got an up-close view of what it means to run a business in English, Spanish and Portuguese at the same time — weekly payroll, 1099 subcontractors, physical checks, Zoho Books, bank reconciliation, IRS compliance, and an owner who needs clarity, not jargon.
That's where he saw the opportunity: there's a huge underserved audience of small Brazilian and Hispanic businesses across New England with meaningful revenue and zero clarity about their own money — because the accountant speaks a language they don't, and nobody explains what matters. Lynx Ledgers was born to change that.
